These lovely green beans are so easy and so, so good.
{This will serve 4 side dish servings}.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb fresh green beans, rinsed and trimmed
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- pepper
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt together butter and olive oil. Add salt, garlic and walnuts. Saute until garlic is lightly browned.
- Add green beans and cook while stirring, about 8 - 10 minutes, or until beans are tender. Sprinkle with pepper {if desired} and serve.
"Fresh green beans provide a rich source of dietary fiber and they also contain a good source of vitamins and minerals. When selecting, make sure to stay away from beans that are limp with tough skin. A healthy bean should give a snap sound when broken."
